Question What Insignia best fits this scenario?

I've been looking around but haven't found anything helpful yet, as far as aiding me in deciding what insignias would be best to use on a Perma-Pre-Searing warrior.

The best armor you can get in Pre-Searing is 27 + 20 vs. physical... so even with that it's easy to get put down rather quickly by a couple of Charr Stalkers firing on you while you try and deal with the Charr Warriors.

Most of the damage over the wall in Pre-Searing is physical, the arrows (aside from the little extra explosion of fire damage from the ignite arrows) and the sword/axe hits from the warriors. Very little damage over the wall in Pre-Searing seems to be Elemental, aside from the small explosions from ignite arrows and the Flares and such from Jaws (but he's a push-over anyway) as the Necros and Monks seem to use wands with Holy Damage or Dark Damage which there is no armor specifically for, and of course the same is true for the Banish, Bane Signet, and Energy Burn attacks since they are armor ignoring. Then there's the degen from the Necros, which isn't too bad overall.

So, given that... I thought that perhaps the Stalwart (+10 vs. physical) would be best, since most of the damage seems to be physical and the Dreadnought (+10 vs. elemental) seems to be kinda pointless (see above paragraph).

However, since the level 10 bosses are all casters and don't be doing physical damage to me, and the most physical damage I'll be taking is from normal Charr that are no more than level 8, I was wondering if I'd get more benefit from the Knight's insignias with it's default -3 physical reduction.
What I'm unsure of is how much damage a level 8 Charr does... and how much 10+ armor reduces it, and if it's on average less than 3 the Knight's would be better, but if not then the Stalwart's?

I don't see any need for Radiant and Survivor can only give me another +40 health and since I already have the Serrated Shield with it's 16 armor, physical damage -2 when in a stance, and 30 health... (and could always get a +health mod for my sword instead of the +armor one I have now).

So, considering what I said above, and since this is just Pre-Searing with low level monsters and low level armor available, which insignias do you think would be best for the situation and why?

I'd say definitely some form of +armor, since your base AL will be lower, you'll get a lot more mileage out of it.

I'm not really familiar with the presearing skillset, but +10 stance or +10 enchanted might be worth looking at.

Other than that, +10 physical is probably best, although you get diminishing returns vs. the stalkers, since they use penetrating shot.

Why does everyone bother with +10AL while enchanted on a Warrior? Brawlers has the most noob-proof requirement, and gives a +10AL to both physical and elemental.

Where are you going to get insignias in presearing they don't sell them there and you can't salvage them?

You can indeedio salvage them - they added Charr Salvage Kits a short while back.

I thought so, I have the Stalwarts now but was just wondering if maybe I was missing out on something better.

With all the Chaots in Pre, running around and shattering enchantments left and right, I don't think that would be good... and for a Warrior the only enchantments you could get would be Shielding Hands, Blood Renewal, Aura of Restoration, Reversal of Fortune, and Retribution... which aren't much use. As for the stance, you just get Frenzy.

True, didn't think about that. Still, that's only one skill thankfully.

True, but in pre you'll have all that time running up on the casters and archers, and by doing it solo it'll require a retreat once in a while... so Brawler's would not be effective all the time.

I have some Charr Salvage Kits, some that I farmed and some that I bought, and can easily buy more... so I planned to just salvage them out and use them like most people in Pre do these days, especially if they are making Pre Only characters or going for the Legendary title.

Exactly. They have really revolutionized game play in Pre Searing too. Not only for the Runes and Insignias but also for the weapon mods.

If money isn't an object, go make another set of armor - its super cheap (well, the armor is)! =D

Then you can have a set of vs physical and a set of vs elemental or whatever, depending on the situation.

I'm revisiting Pre at the moment, and i'm facing the same decision soon. My trouble is that I haven't accumulated any Pre wealth yet, so I have to choose right the first time.
